Methodology is crucial for any branch of scholarship because an unreliable method produces unreliable results and, as a consequence, undermines the value of your interpretations of the findings. The methods section should describe what was done to answer the research question, describe how it was done, justify the experimental design, and explain how the results were analyzed.
Concrete examples are often very useful here. The heading of this subsection can be modified to reflect its content.
